RCT council leader paid £100,000 for four jobs

RUSSELL Roberts, the Labour leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf council, has come under fire after it emerged he is paid for FOUR jobs from the public purse.

Coun Roberts, who has led the council since 2004, is paid £4,000 a year as deputy leader of the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA), taking his total annual earnings to a whopping £99,850.

In 2010-11, he picked up £58,962, including £1,177 in travel and subsistence, from his work as leader of the council. He also received £23,544 as chairman of South Wales Police Authority and £13,344 from Cwm Taf Health Board.
