Following up from SWNF opposing a communist party meeting last Monday, the patriots from South Wales NF and their comrades in the valleys front-line firm, returned to Merthyr Tydfil to hold a full day of action.
The day started with 15 or so Nationalists meeting up in the centre of the valley town, Manchester organiser Kevin McMahon and his wife Debbie joined the welsh patriots who were armed with a new bi-lingual leaflet informing people on how this country imports coal from all across the world yet there is still 300 years of coal left "under our own feet!"
With a constant stream of people walking to and from the Saturday market, it wasn't long before people were stopping to chat to the nationalists about issues from the state of the NHS, unemployment to immigration. The shouts of support and thumbs up from people driving past in their cars also spurred the patriots on with one gentleman stopping to have his picture taken with the Wales NF flag! with just 50 minutes gone the patriots had given out their full stock of over 300 of the new leaflets and had to reach into their bags for there "reserve leaflets" which carried different messages such as the "heat or eat" situation some of today's pensioners find themselves in.
By the end of the leafleting session close to 500 leaflets were given out in 90 minutes and the response from the valley public was once again very supportive with both old and young people happy to see the National Front there.
After the leafleting session the Nationalists moved on to a public house just outside the town centre where they were joined by more South Wales NF members and supporters and the Party chairman for a formal meeting.
South Wales NF branch organiser Mr Adam Lloyd chaired the meeting and opened it with a short speech to the now 30 plus patriots in attendance. He spoke about the progress the branch has made in the last few weeks and how the branch plans to go forward.
Mr Lloyd then introduced the first guest speaker of the meeting, Manchester organiser Mr Kevin McMahon. Kevin gave an inspiring speech about how important it is that everyone keeps the 14 words in their heart and the importance of street action in the name of those very words!
At this point a short break was taken and raffle tickets were sold along with the latest issue of the National Front's paper Britain First.
After the break the raffle was drawn before it was time for the second guest speaker of the day, party Chairman Mr Kevin Bryan.
The party chairman spoke about some of the Merthyr area's history which at different points has been exploited by different groups of people and how now the area has been neglected by every political party. He went on to say how the community was destroyed by the Tories, Margaret Thatcher in particular, and how now Merthyr has been totally forgotten by the Labour party!
After the party chairman had spoken a collection was held and along with the raffle ticket sales a total of £106 was raised and also South Wales NF received a pledge of another £100 towards their election fund off a National Front member present at the meeting!
After the meeting was closed the meeting venue owner then approached the patriots and thanked them for their custom and stated that they were welcome back any time they wanted and next time a buffet would be laid on free of charge, due to the Nationalists impeccable behaviour.
The Patriots then headed into Merthyr town centre to enjoy a great night out in the town where they spoke to the local public and continued to hand out leaflets in the different pubs they visited.
(tickets only!)
This was by far one of the most successful days of action in the history of South Wales NF, yet again showing that Nationalists and Nationalism really does get a "welcome in the hillside!"
