South Wales NF attends Remembrance Day parade London.

South Wales NF attends Remembrance Day parade London.

On Sunday November 11th South Wales National Front activists and supporters boarded their earlier morning bus to London for the 2012 National Fronts Remembrance Day parade. It was a cold but clear morning and the weather for the rest of the day stayed the same, bright and clear but cold.
Once everyone was aboard from the various pick ups along the M4, everyone buzzing with excitement and enthusiasm, a raffle was held to raise group funds and pin badges and other merchandise was sold. South Wales NF secretary Claire Thomas then showed the group the wreath of poppies she would be laying at the cenotaph on behalf of South Wales NF.  Then at 11 am a 2 minutes silence was held by the group in memory of the fallen.
Once in London we eventually found some where to park and headed for a public house in the Victoria area of the city. There we met up with other nationalists, both new and old friends were greeted as the excitement began to build the closer 2pm came. Then at around 2pm we made our war to the form up point. Flags were by now flying high and proud as we got in to formation and at the beat of the bass drum at 2:30pm we set off on the parade.
We passed a pub full of veterans where most them came out to cheer us on! This set the tone for the march, yes there was one or two negative comments from the on looking crowds but the majority of the crowd were more than supportive! The feeling of pride and honour amongst the group was now at point where you could all most feel it as we march passed Big Ben and made our way to the cenotaph.
At the cenotaph a small service was held and the wreaths were laid, with South Wales NF secretary laying the wreath on behalf of the branch. Then we moved a short distance up the road to the women’s memorial where another short service and last post sounded by the bugler, followed by another National Front wreath  being laid.
After this we marched up the road to a small park where a political rally was held before everyone made their way back to the pub in Victoria for a well earned drink and some food. Our thanks and good byes were said around 5pm when we set off for the journey home.
A great day, a very humbling experience and an event South Wales NF will always attend. LEST WE FORGET.
